Susan Shares A Recipe-Chocolate-Cherry Dump Cake

This might be a pretty Valentine dessert. It is from the Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade Money Saving Meals cookbook.
CHOCOLATE-CHERRY DUMP CAKE
1 box (18.25-ounce) devil's food cake mix, Betty Crocker
1 1/2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling, Comstock More Fruit or Wilderness More Fruit
1 can (15 ounce) pitted tart pie cherries, drained, Oregon
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts, Planters
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, cut into slices
Vanilla bean ice cream (optional)

1. Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour cherry pie filling and drained tart pie cherries into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Using a rubber spatula, stir cherry mixture, spread evenly in baking pan. Spread prepared cake mix over top. Sprinkle with walnuts. Dot with sliced butter.

2. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until cake layer is cooked through and fruit is bubbling. Serve warm with ice cream (optional).

Takes 10 minutes to prepare, 50 minutes to bake, and serves 12
